Chris grew up in the village of Dedham, where his first art lessons were watching the great granddaughter of the artist John Constable, who lived with them for approximately 7 years. After completing a 2-year course in photography at Regent St. Polytechnic in London Chris spent his career working with some of the best photographers in London. The most well known studio was that of John Vickers, the official photographer of the Old Vic. Theatre. He also worked in Society ,theatrical, fashion and advertising photography until moving back to Suffolk.
He took up painting seriously in 1997 and is now a member of Orwell Art Club and The Humberdoucy Group, tutored by Ken Cuthbert and a member of the Ipswich Art Society.
His work comprises of watercolour, pen and wash, acrylic and oils and can be seen in various local galleries. I sell my work through TAPLIN GALLERY, where I have exhibited for several years. I am also able to accept commissions, which can be arranged through the Gallery.
